Another exceptional temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is the Siddhanth Shiv Temple. The temple is located between the serene Takhat Sagar hills and Kalyana Lake, resting peacefully away from all the day to day disturbances. To arrive at the shrine, one has to cross an enormous flight of stairs which was cut out of rocks.
It was established by Gauri Shanker (known as ‘Nepali Baba’ to people living nearby), who is said to have had just 4 fingers in both his hands and feet. He carved the entire temple out of stones by himself, which is a beauty to behold. He was an exceedingly respected saint who came to the place and lived there for a very long time as that area was peaceful and hard to reach. The temple provides a thorough view of the city of Jodhpur and the Machiya Safari Park.
