Chamunda Mata Temple

In the exquisite complex of the glorious Mehrangarh Fort lies a small temple dedicated to Chamunda Mata. Situated in the southernmost corner of the fort, the temple is ringed by verdant gardens separating it from the chaos of the city. Built on a raised platform, you will have to ascend a flight of stairs to view the white pyramidal dome of this petite temple. Its origin dates back to the year 1640 when the Parihar ruler, Rao Jodha, carried the idol of Devi Chamunda from Mandore over to Mehrangarh Fort.

Every year, during the auspicious festival of Dussehra, grand celebrations are held near the temple complex and are considered the best time to seek the blessings of the goddess.
